Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays, or radiographs, are also used in our office to provide us with invaluable information about your oral and dental health. By placing a wireless sensor in your mouth and using high-tech computer software, we are able to generate digital images of your mouth significantly faster than traditional X-rays. Not only are they friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional X-rays, reducing your radiation exposure by 90%!
iTero® Digital Impression System
The iTero digital impression system replaces the uncomfortable, unpleasant-tasting, messy and sometimes inaccurate, traditional impression taking. Using the most advanced technology available, iTero enables us to capture a digital scan of the patient’s teeth and bite and make necessary adjustments immediately. Once the complete scan is finished, we are able to submit the images via the Internet to our nearest Cadent-partnering lab, where they will be processed and a custom-fabricated restoration will be created.
This revolutionary technology allows us to start with a perfect model, which will ensure perfect results in the end.
Laser Dental Treatments
We use laser dentistry in our practice for hard and soft tissue procedures. The lasers used are narrow beams of light energy that can penetrate the tissue, producing the ability to vaporize, remove or shape soft tissues such as the gums, cheeks and tongue. It can also penetrate hard tissue and remove decay.
Laser dentistry can be used to correct many problems from uncovering partially erupted wisdom teeth to removing lip pulls in orthodontic patients. Lasers can also obtain small tissue samples in biopsy procedures to detect lesions or potential tumors in the mouth.
Using laser dentistry as opposed to other forms of surgery does have its advantages. Lasers can control the amount of bleeding during the treatment and can sometimes remove gum tissue without causing bleeding. In laser dentistry, there may also be less swelling and pain following the surgery as the laser can seal blood vessels and nerve endings.
